These are the child safety standards for potatoroad, the photo-sharing app developed by Kamiyaa Technologies Inc.. They explain how we prevent and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on potatoroad, and how anyone can report a concern. They apply to everyone who uses potatoroad on the web, Android, or any other device, and are part of our Terms of Service.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services right away.
1. Zero tolerance
potatoroad has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We prohibit any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. Anyone who violates these standards will have their content removed and their account permanently banned, and we will report them to the authorities.
2. What we mean by CSAE and CSAM
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) means content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. This includes, for example, grooming a child for sexual exploitation, sextorting a child, trafficking a child for sex, or otherwise sexually exploiting a child.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) means any visual depiction, including photos, videos, and computer-generated or AI-generated imagery, involving the use of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
- A child or minor is anyone under 18.
3. What's prohibited
You may not use potatoroad to post, share, request, or engage in:
- Child sexual abuse material of any kind, including drawn, animated, edited, or AI-generated imagery.
- Sexualized images or comments involving a minor, including in captions and tags.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor in order to sexually exploit or abuse them, including sending them sexual content or asking for theirs.
- Sextortion: threatening or pressuring a minor, or anyone, with intimate images of a minor.
- Promoting, advertising, or facilitating the trafficking of children.
- Links to, or instructions for finding, child sexual abuse material elsewhere.
- Content that praises, normalizes, or encourages the sexual abuse of children, or sexualizes them in any other way.
4. How we keep children safe
- Minimum age: you must be at least 13 to use potatoroad. We remove accounts we learn belong to children under 13.
- Private accounts: anyone can make their account private, so only followers they approve can see their posts and stories.
- Verified sign-ups: every account is tied to a verified email address and protected by bot detection, which makes it harder to create throwaway accounts.
- Enforcement: we review reports, remove violating content, and ban offenders, including any new accounts they create.
5. How to report a concern
If you see content or behavior on potatoroad that may exploit or endanger a child, please report it to us right away. You don't need a potatoroad account to report.
- In the app: go to Settings and choose Report a safety concern.
- By email: write to child-safety@potatoroad.com with the subject "Child safety report".
Where you can, include the username of the account involved and a link to the post, story, or comment. Please don't download, screenshot, or forward suspected child sexual abuse material, even to report it. Doing so may itself be illegal. A description and a link are enough for us to find it.
You can also report child sexual exploitation directly to the authorities:
- In Canada: the Canadian Centre for Child Protection at Cybertip.ca.
- In the United States: the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at CyberTipline.org.
- Elsewhere: through the INHOPE network of hotlines, or your local police.
6. What we do when we find CSAE
We treat child safety reports as our highest priority. When we learn of child sexual abuse material or other CSAE on potatoroad, we:
- Remove the content as soon as we have actual knowledge of it.
- Permanently ban the accounts involved, and work to stop them from coming back.
- Preserve the relevant content and account information, securely and with restricted access, so it's available to law enforcement.
- Report it to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and to law enforcement, as required by Canadian law, and to other authorities, such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, where required.
- Cooperate with law enforcement investigations, as permitted by law.
7. Compliance with child safety laws
Kamiyaa Technologies Inc. is based in Ontario, Canada. We comply with applicable child safety laws, including Canada's Act respecting the mandatory reporting of Internet child pornography by persons who provide an Internet service and the Criminal Code, and the child safety laws of other places where potatoroad is offered.
